The Atkins Diet takes place over multiple phases, 4 in total. The challenge of the Induction phase is that it can be hard to get accommodated to it. In fact, the main challenge comes from getting started. It’s very difficult to know what to eat and when to do so. That’s why we made a quick list with acceptable foods for this first phase.
What foods should you eat during the Atkins Diet Induction?
Fish is one of the foods that you can eat if you choose the Atkins diet. Some of the best fish for this Induction phase can vary. Flounder, salmon, tuna and trout are a good option. Fowl can also be ok, including turkey, chicken, duck, Cornish hen or quail.
Shellfish can be an option too, same with meat like veal, venison, lamb, beef or bacon. You will need to limit the amount to a few servings, each 4-6 ounces each. Eggs are OK, same with certain fats and oils like butter, olive or vegetable oils. When it comes to beverages, water, herb tea, club or diet soda can be fine.
There are a few restrictions when it comes to cheese, due to the higher carb amount in some cases. Most foundation veggies are a good option for the Induction phase, and we also have herbs or spices like chives, parsley or sage that can be a good fit. How long is the Induction phase?
In general, the Atkins Diet Induction will take around 2 weeks. However, it depends on the weight loss goals. It’s common for this phase to take a bit longer. That will happen if you have a lot of weight you need to lose, or if you want to speed things up. The main focus for the Induction phase is to help you start the weight loss while also not eating a lot of food.
Is it a good idea to try the Atkins diet? If you have health issues or want to lose weight, this diet can help a lot. It has restrictions especially when it comes to carbs. Plus, you will find yourself with more energy and better mood if you try this diet. The Atkins diet is not easy to get into for a newcomer.
